About
About Next Station and its founder, Aditya Jadhav
Next Station is an independent Mumbai transit app: local trains, metro and BEST buses planned door to door, on the phone, with no account and no signal needed. It is built in Mumbai by Aditya Jadhav.
Why it exists
Mumbai's commute runs on local trains, metro lines, buses and autos that no single app plans together — and the apps that try need a working connection at exactly the moments you don't have one: on a packed platform, in a Metro Line 3 tunnel, in a dead zone between stations. Next Station started as one commuter's fix for that: put the whole timetable, every station and the places people actually go on the phone, and plan across all of it without asking a server.
How it works
The app ships with the suburban timetable, the metro lines, BEST routes and a 26,000-place gazetteer in a local database. A routing engine on the phone (RAPTOR over timetabled trains plus frequency-based metro and buses, with walking and auto access) produces door-to-door options and labels them Recommended, Fastest, Cheapest, Least walking and Fewest changes, with fare ranges rather than false precision. Timetable and place data are refreshed through small signed updates; nothing about you travels the other way.
What it will never do
- Ask you to sign up, or show ads.
- Send your location or saved places anywhere. They stay on the device (see the privacy policy).
- Claim precision it doesn't have: estimated times and fares are always marked with ~.
The founder
Aditya Jadhav is an engineer in Mumbai who builds across the stack — mobile apps, computer vision and embedded hardware. He is studying Electronics & Computer Engineering at Thakur Shyamnarayan Engineering College (University of Mumbai), where he leads the Robotics & Automation Club as Technical Head. Next Station is his: the routing engine, the offline data pipeline and the Material 3 interface, documented in the open on GitHub.
